Emkay Mass Milling Machines
Triple Roll Mass milling machines, in FLAT BED constructin, are most suitable for dispersin and homogenisatin of ingredients for paints, pharmaceuticals etc.
Rolls
Hollow chilled alloy iron are presicion turned and ground to mirror finish. The rolls have 450 to 550 BHN hardness on their working faces. The end shafts are bolted to the rolls or are forced fit and thus can be replaced when required. the idle end shaft is made hollo for water circulatin. The rolls run in plain bush bearing/self-aligning spherical roller bearings. completely enclosed and sealed for dust.
End Frames
The rolls are supported between tow c.i./m/s. fabricated frames. The driving-end frame bouses the gear train and the oil lubrication system. The upper half cove can be easily removed for checking gears. ON-OFF push button statin, ammeters and other guages are fitted on the end frames.
Rolls Adjustments
Front and rear rolls can broght nearer to middle roll by any of the following aggangements :-
- Manually operated screw type roll adjusters.
- Hydrostatic arrangement, consisting of a hand operated pump and four hydraulic cylinders. The hydraulic pressure, applied on the rolls, is controlled by needle valves and can be directly read on the two huages provided on the pane.
- Hydrodynamic aggangement, consisting of a motorised power pack, complete with control cum pressure relief vales and hydraulic cylinders. The pressure for the front and rear folls can be directly read on the two guages fitted on the panel.
Lubricating System
The gear train is either splash lubricated or a motorised lubricatioin system with a ger pump is provided to ensure continuous lubricatin of all important points and parts.
Feed Hopper
A set of two cast gun metal side cheeks is provided for feeding the material. These cheeks are precision machined and finished.
Discharge Tray
The milled material is scraped off the rear roll with the help of spring steel doctor's blade. The material falls on inclined tray of SS-304 /muild steel. The doctor's blade presses against the rear roll through suitable springs ensuring, proper scraping of milled material.
Cooling of Rolls
Colling water under pressure enters the hollow idle-end shaft of each roll from a header, provided with indicidual control valve and fubing. The warm water overflows out of the hollow shaft and falls into a m.s. fabricated chamber attached to the idel-end frame cover.
Drive Unit
A TEFC electric motor of Siemens /NGEF/Kirloskar/GEC make, operating on 3 phase, 400/440 volts, 50 c/s poer supply, drives a Radicon/Elecon or Allroyed worm reduction gear, which in turn is coupled to the middle roll. Alternately, the motor drives a gelical toothed gear train to move the rolls at differential speeds 'Kirloskar' geared motors canalso be provided in small machinens. A fluid coupling can be provided at extra cost, it required by the customer to facilitate shockless starting under heavy loads.

The machine is properly guarded for safety at gears, plulleys and coupling, etc.
